Designed for Triumph by Karmann in Germany with the instructions to retain the TR5s floor, scuttle, screen, doors, and inner panels. Karmann designed a new nose, wings and tail. A new removable hardtop was designed by Triumph.
Once again cars for the North American market wore carburettors (104bhp) and the rest of the world got Lucas fuel injection (150bhp).
